Great to write to all of you!! I hope you are feeling the dark clouds lift. Pam and I are certainly feeling that way. We’ve both had the 2 shots

We have been in Montana for most of the past year - then Naples Florida for a month around January.

James and I released a new album of songs we wrote last summer- We recorded the tracks at our home then sent them to Nashville where the studio pros added their tracks.

If These Guitars Could Talk....

For so many of us born during the “baby boom” era, nothing was more important than making or listening to music, especially when it involved a guitar. All of us were influenced by the early “rock ’n’ roll” songs that had been ushered in by Elvis Presley and his cohorts, and we all wanted to be a part of it. I know I did.It turns out that a young man from the heartland of Nebraska, Jim Salestrom, had that same dream. Born into a family in the mid-1950s as the second of three boys, Jim found his love of music from his parents, his church, and, most definitely, in school, where he learned trombone and piano before getting involved in serious guitar playing.Jim was gifted with an inexpensive Kay f-hole guitar as a seven-year-old, and his love for the instrument caused him to explore what other brands were out there. He soon learned about Martin guitars, and a relationship began that has continued to the present day.

Jim Salestrom to Perform “Denver, Dolly and More”

World-traveled, Grammy-nominated artist Jim Salestrom is set to croon for the crowd at the Lake Wales Arts Center later this month on January 18. “I play songs about places that I’ve been and people that I’ve met,” said Salestrom. “I try to bring some humor. I’m a storyteller and the music is geared for all different ages.”

This is an excerpt from a book I’m writing about my life as a musician - sometimes leading the charge - sometimes as a sideman - sometimes as a mouse in the corner. I’m not sure how interesting it is to anyone but those who know me and maybe my family, but I’m looking out the window at a Montana January day and my knee hurts. No skiing today.
