Jim with Sandra Day O'Connor

Jim was invited by Justice Sandra Day O'Connor to perform "We Are Americans" at the United States Supreme Court.

Jim Singing We Are Americans
On November 7, 2001 Jim performed his new patriotic song "We are Americans - We Want the World to Live In Peace" at the Best Friends “For Our Children” event at the Bertie Backus Middle School in Washington D.C. The school lost several students and teachers on September 11th.

The skaters for the evening included members of the Denver area local skating clubs (from Tots to High School), Braden Overett from the University of Denver and professional skaters Jason Dungien, Yuka Sato, Anjelika Krylova, Oleg Ovsyannikov, Matt Savoie and Steven Cousins.

Playing in the band with Jim were Pete Huttlinger, Hereford Percy, John Sommers, Jim Horn, Steve Ivey, Chris Englemen, Kenn Roberts, Mollie Weaver, Don Pinella, Mary Huckins, Tony Radell and Jerome Gilmer.
Jim and an all star band presented an unforgettable evening of music and skating for the National Recreation and Park Association All Congress Social at the University of Denver's Richie Center.

Bluegrass Friends
Recording Studio
Taking a break from recording "Thank God I'm I Country Boy" with good friends, Mark Derryberry, John Sommers (who wrote the song) and Hereford Percy.
Playing at Keystone to kick off the 4th of July week in Summit County. Jim is joined by Jerome Gilmer on keyboards, Roger Markel on drums and big brother Chuck Salestrom on bass.

The next day - Jim and Chuck performed at the Historic Park Gazebo in Frisco. Joe Scott from the group Acoustic Eidolon join them for a tune.
On June 24th, 2001, Jim gave a sold out benefit concert for the John Novotny Family and the John Novotny Memorial Fund. John Novotny lost his long battle with cancer on April 18th.
